Samantha on Pay Disparity in Movies

Several Indian actors and actresses have publicly advocated for equal pay for men and women in the film industry.

Several Indian actors and actresses have publicly advocated for equal pay for men and women in the film industry. From Deepika Padukone to Priyanka Chopra, from Kangana Ranaut to Sonakshi Sinha, from Vidya Balan to Kareena Kapoor, they have also batted for ending pay disparity.

In a recent interview with Food Pharmer, Samantha Ruth Prabhu opined about what she thinks about equal pay. She stated that female actors have been paid "dramatically" less than their male counterparts for equally demanding roles in numerous instances. She suggested that she has personally been at the receiving end of pay disparities.

Samantha, as a producer, doesn't want to subject others to what she sees as an unfair practice in the industry. Subham, her production venture under Tralala Moving Pictures, has actors receiving equal pay for equally demanding roles.

Subham, whose teaser was released recently, is a horror-comedy starring Harshith Reddy, Shriya Kontham, Charan Peri, Shalini Kondepudi, Gavireddy Srinivas and others. Praveen Kandregula has wielded the megaphone.
