Abhishek Agarwal Rules Out Clash With Mighty Salaar
With the much-hyped Vivek Agnihotri’s film ‘The Vaccine War’ set to take on the mighty commercial entertainer ‘Salaar’ starring Prabhas and directed by Prashanth Neel, at the ticket windows across Indian cinemas on September 28, noted producer Abhishek Agarwal rules out any competition.
“We are not taking on anybody since our film ‘The Vaccine War’ is a small movie revolving around a unique theme of ‘bio-science’. Competing with an action film like ‘Salaar’ is just ruled out since these two films belong to different genres. Of course, we are releasing one the same day due to our requirements since Ganapathi festival is celebrated in a big way in North India,” says Abhishek Agarwal, who tasted massive success with ‘The Kashmir Files’ with the same director.
“Our film will be picking up gradually in one week based on word-of-mouth as we are not expecting sensational openings. Thematic movies have their own space and time to make their money, unlike a big star film which relies only on first day or first weekend collections,” he reasons.
He further says that they would have avoided a clash if they had a star-studded film in hand, “It would have been a different story then and we would have rescheduled the movie release date to garner great openings," he says.
Meanwhile, Abhishek is also looking forward to his big-ticket Telugu film ‘Tiger Nageswara Rao’ starring Ravi Teja. The film is all set to hit theatres on August 17. “It will surely live up to high expectations,” he concludes.
