Mahesh Babu to play army major
Mahesh Babu’s next film Sarileru Neekevvaru was launched on the occasion of Mahesh’s father Krishna’s birthday on Friday morning at a private studio in Hyderabad.
With Rashmika Mandanna in the female lead role, the film will be directed by Anil Ravipudi and produced by Dil Raju, AK Entertainments, and Mahesh Babu himself. Mahesh Babu, as usual, did not show up at the film’s launch event, which the senior director K. Raghavendra Rao attended as the chief guest.
“Mahesh’s role in the film —that of an army major — has been penned to be in perfect alignment with the film’s title,” Anil said, adding that he aspires to deliver nothing less than a straight-up blockbuster with the movie. He then went on to thank Vijayashanti for coming on board the film. The senior actress apparently sent a note to Anil on the occasion which Anil read out loud to everybody present at the event. “Many happy returns of the day to superstar Krishna, alongside whom I made my acting debut ahead of a wholesome career of nearly 160 films that followed. Now, 13 years into my political career, I’m sincerely honoured to return to acting with Krishna’s son Mahesh Babu,” the note read.
The film has been scheduled to release around Sankranthi 2020.
