Nagarjuna gives nod for period drama
After much dilly-dallying, Nagarjuna has finally given his nod for a period drama, which will also star Allari Naresh. The film will be the directorial debut of writer Bezawada Prasanna.
“The film is set in the 70s and 80s. What hooked Nagarjuna was the layered character. The script and screenplay were also well-written. He okayed the script in the first narration,” says a source.
Allari Naresh plays an interesting and pivotal role. When Prasanna suggested Naresh’s name to Nagarjuna, the latter was more than pleased to endorse it.
Interestingly, Prasanna had narrated the film to Nagarjuna as a story writer. Nag was so impressed that he asked the writer to direct the film. “He was shocked! But since Nag has this great history of introducing directors and making them successful, Prasanna was pretty kicked by the suggestion,” adds the source.
Prasanna has written the screenplay for several superhit films, including Cinema Choopistha Mava, Nenu Local, and Dhamaka.
