Malayalam film Angamaly Diaries, which released earlier this year, was quite a sensation. The crime drama, rooted into the local culture of a city, struck a chord and the film was critically acclaimed. Now, it is all set to have a remake in Telugu.
Actor Vishwak Sen, who played the lead in Vellipomakey, which is yet to be released, will be playing the lead in the film. However, the team is yet to zero in on a director.
Confirming the same, Vishwak reveals, “The film is being adapted to suit the Telugu sensibilities. It will be completely rooted in Hyderabad, and will show the gangster culture of the city. It will be something new.”
Interestingly, the team is holding auditions and is looking for nearly 80 new actors to be a part of the film.
A member from the production house, Vanmaye Creations, says, “The story needs good performers and we are open to anyone who can act. We have already done some preliminary shooting with the cast that is already in place and plan to set the ball rolling in the coming few months.”
