Acting remains my first love, though I don't mind singing
Pretty actress Seerat Kapoor, who was seen in Telugu movies like Run Raja Run, Touch Chesi Choodu and Krishna And His Leela, is all set to turn singer for a Bollywood music video made by producer Vashu Bhagnani. A terrific dancer, she is also getting an opportunity to showcase her dance moves in Telugu film Aakasam Dhati Vasthava. The actor-singer-dancer talks to Deccan Chronicle about her future plans.
What kind of a role are you playing in the Telugu film Satyabhama?
It is a very challenging role because it’s a layered one, where I have to project grey shades too. I drew inspiration from my Hindi film Maarich, which runs on similar lines. After playing bubbly girl roles, this film gives me an opportunity to explore varied emotions. Similarly, I was able to showcase my dancing skills in Akasam Dhati Vastava, where my work as a choreographer came in handy.
We hear that you turned singer for a music video!
Yes. The lavish music video is produced by Vashu Bhagnani and I sang a romantic duet with reputed singer Ishan Khan. Despite being a trained classical singer, I had to rehearse for a couple of days to get my tone right. I wouldn’t mind crooning more songs if I get an opportunity to do so, but acting remains my first love.
How was it working with Sharwanand again?
We tasted big success earlier with Run Raja Run. This new film is being shot in London. He is a fantastic co-star and a nice actor too. Our on-screen chemistry looks good and I have learnt a lot from him. I also had the great experience of working with Ravi Teja and Siddu Jonnalagadda.
You have been shuttling between Mumbai and Hyderabad, isn’t it?
I am trying to strike a balance between Hindi and Telugu films. I have done some Hindi movies like Zid and Maarich. However, Telugu films are close to my heart since I found success and appreciation here. Of course, I have done fewer films than others as I emphasise quality over quantity. I am discussing a few more offers.
