Sankranti is 10 days away and there are many big movies lined up for the festival. In the meanwhile, let us take a look at what other films would be released in the first week of this year.
It is significant to note that all films scheduled to be released on January 6 and 7 are small-budget movies and it has to be seen how they would fare at the box office.
January 6
Pratyardhi: It is a suspense thriller with investigative screenplay. Ravi Varma, Akshita, Vamsi play the lead roles in the movie.
Veera Gunnamma: The movie tells the story of a courageous woman belonging to north Andhra region who fought against the zamindars and even the Britishers. She fought for the farmers’ lands and rights and was shot down when she was a pregnant.
Michael Gang: The movie is about Michael, an orphan, and his friends who start with nothing but become powerful people.
A journey to Kasi: It is a unique movie produced jointly by Doradla Balaji and Sridhar Varanasi under the banner Varanasi Creations. Chaitanya Rao, the protagonist of the movie, said it is a very realistic and natural film.
Kingdom of the Dinosaurs: Is an adventurous movie made in Hollywood. Originally titled Jurassic Valley, it is set in 2030. The movie dubbed in Telugu would be released this week.
Dostan: A movie made covering three genres – love, emotion and friendship. With Sid Swaroop, Indu Priya, Priya Vallabhi in the lead roles, the movie was produced under the Surya Movies Creations banner.
