Sri Chaganti Koteswara Rao recently gave his second spiritual discourse based on a film, and the subject of his talk was the 1987 film Sruthilayalu. Rao’s last film-based discourse was about Sankarabharanam, another film by the same director – Dadasaheb Phalke Award-winner K. Viswanath.
The Sruthilayalu discourse was attended by a few celebrities, and it also served as a venue for the film’s director and the team members to reunite after 31 years. Talking about the event on his Twitter page, actor Naresh posted, “It was like having a tasteful meal to watch the musical epic, Sruthilayalu. A directorial of legendary K. Viswanath garu starring Rajasekhar, Sumalatha, me and others. A pravachanam by Sri Chaganti garu after 31 years. The film still appears fresh.”
Sruthilayalu, a film about dance and music, starred Naresh Sr, Rajasekhar and Sumulatha in the lead. It was a huge hit in its time.
