Kamal Haasan\'s Indian 2: Rajamouli releases the teaser; Senapathy strikes back
The anticipation for Kamal Haasan's return as "Indian" in the sequel has been a prolonged one. The latest promotional material, titled 'Indian 2 Intro,' vividly conveys how the entire nation has been eagerly awaiting the sequel. In this promo for "Indian 2," Kamal Haasan, reprising his iconic role as 'Indian,' is showcased in multiple distinctive appearances.
The teaser also offers fleeting glimpses of Siddharth, donning a chest plate adorned with currency notes, while the likes of Rakul Preet Singh and Kajal Aggarwal make notable appearances.
The filming for "Indian 2" commenced in 2019 but was tragically interrupted in 2020 due to a crane accident on set, resulting in three fatalities and ten injuries. The sequel arrives 27 years after the release of the original film.
The teaser commences with a scarcely recognizable Kamal Haasan, phoning from a distant land while disguised as a well-dressed gentleman with greying hair and a moustache. He emphatically states, “Wherever there is injustice, I will be there. The Indian is immortal." The sequence proceeds with a helicopter preparing to land on a ship, adding to the intrigue.
The promo further offers glimpses of a stark divide in society, with the affluent indulging in extravagant luxuries and the less fortunate resorting to hefty bribes for their daily affairs. A government employee refuses a ₹6.5 lakh bribe and demands ₹8 lakh, while another rejects a contract for non-payment of the complete bribe amount.
