Hyderabad: After a brief hiatus, noted producer Anil Sunkara is back in business and doing a film with young actor Sharwanand which was launched two days ago. Anil Sunkara who suffered heavy losses with two films ‘Agent’ and ‘Bholaa Shankar’ took a break of sorts and moved to the US to re-think his strategy. ‘He is making a wholesome entertainer with Sharwanand since action films have disappointed him. He would be betting more money on comic capers and selecting scripts accordingly,“ says a source and adds, “‘Amidst flops, Anil tasted success with a laugh-riot ‘Samarajavaragamana’ and made some money and he resolved to continue with rib ticklers,” he adds.
He is also planning another film with actor Sudeep Kishan which would again tickle the laughing bones of the audience. “Anil and Sundeep discussed a script that would go on floors shortly. He wants to work with young heroes to connect with new generation viewers,” he points out. Sunkara is already a partner in Sundeep Kishan’s upcoming thriller ‘Ooru Peru Bhairavakona’ and found a rising market for Sudeep. “Anil Sunkara is a good judge of comedy scripts and doesn’t want to miss that opportunity and would shy away from action films for some time until he finds the right script,” heads.
He is also in talks to make a big ticket entertainer with superstar Mahesh Babu but it would take more time since Mahesh is set to begin work for S S Rajamouli movie next year. “Sunkara delivered a hit movie ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’ with Mahesh Babu and is planning to do another film with ‘Dhookudu’ star,” he concludes.
