Nandini Rai seems to have hit a purple patch! While the pandemic proved a stumbling block for many actresses, it came as a blessing for her. "Thanks to the rise of OTT, I got several projects which literally made me live out of my suitcase. Honestly, it's been challenging, shuttling between the sets of several films," she shares but adds that as an actress, that's the situation she craves.
"Being on various film sets and adapting to those characters gives me a high," she says.
The actress is currently working on seven projects while awaiting the release of Varisu, with superstar Vijay in the lead. Nandini says she is excited to be part of a big-ticket film. "My role in Varisu is crisp and important.
Although short, it is impactful," she says, but refuses to divulge details.
She says shooting with Vijay was a wonderful experience. Getting to know him in person was fascinating, she shares. "I think his simplicity made him a superstar.
He never got into the caravan even after his shot was over, but he would observe others" performances and appreciate them. Vijay influenced me greatly, and I am still in awe of him. Soon, I will get a tattoo of his name," asserts Nandini, adding that Varisu will be a feather in her cap in terms of expanding her horizons beyond Telugu.
