Nishabdam goes OTT
It looks like a deal allowing Amazon to screen Nishabdam on its OTT channel is imminent.
According to a source, the channel has agreed to pay the sum quoted for the film, and the transaction is expected to be finalised in a day or two. The multi-language film was made at a budget of '30 crore, and if the deal goes through, the producers can get their money back.
The hitch is that the film has been jointly produced by T.G. Viswa Prasad and Kona Venkat.
While the former is ready to sell it to a private channel, the latter is against the idea. The two producers are to meet for discussions.
“They will also consult Anushka Shetty before reaching a final agreement,” added the source.
If the deal goes through, Nishabdam will be the first big Telugu film to be screened on an OTT platform.
