Filmmaker Ajay Bhupati’s directorial debut, the action drama, RX100 (2018) starring Kartikeya Gummakonda and Payal Rajput, was a super success and paved the way for more films in the genre.
The director now wants to make a sequel to it. He feels that the fundamental plotline has great potential to become a bigger success at the box office.
However, the second version will be different and independent of the first part.
“Director Ajay Bhupati believes that the film RX 100 has the potential to be developed into a franchise series. He wants to retain the essence of the plotline and then customise and differently design the characterisations of the lead actors,”says a source close to the director.
The buzz is that Ajay has completed 50 per cent of the script.
“Whenever he has time, he works on the script. RX100 is a project that’s very dear to Ajay and he is determined to take the second part on the floors next year if all goes well. But first, he wants to get the basic script right,”explains the source.
