A different side to Kartikeya Gummakonda
After his portrayal of a village boy who falls in love with a city girl in RX 100, actor Kartikeya Gummakonda will next be seen as a guy who is high on fashion in his forthcoming release, Hippi, directed by T. N. Krishna.
“This is a role that one can only imagine in their wildest dreams. Hippi is about today’s youngsters who speak candidly and wear their heart on their sleeve,” explains Kartikeya, adding, “I wanted to completely transform myself from my previous film and present a different version. I am glad Hippi gave me that opportunity.”
Apparently, the best part of the romantic drama is the layers in the plot. “My role has a few interesting shades. There are intense scenes along with action and comedy. In fact, for the role of a kick boxer in the film, I had to get a toned physique. So the learning curve has been very big,” he reveals.
Kartikeya admits that RX 100 gave him the confidence to work on realistic scripts. “Realistic scripts have great potential to connect with the audience. The success of RX 100 made me more responsible, and hence, I am a bit choosy when it comes to scripts,” he says as he signs off.
