Is Kashmir Files Producer Abhishek Agarwal Joining Politics?
Tollywood financier-turned-producer Abhishek Agarwal moved to Bollywood and tasted massive success with ‘Kashmir Files’. He describes Bollywood director Vivek Agnihotri as a family member and their upcoming film ‘The Vaccine War’ is all set to release in September. He is also excited about his upcoming big ticket Telugu film ‘Tiger Nageswara Rao' with Tollywood Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja in the lead.
Q: What are your expectations from your big ticket Telugu film ‘Tiger Nageswara Rao’ which has gone over the budget?
A: I am very happy and elated about our movie ‘Tiger Nageswara Rao’ since it has shaped up very well. Working with Ravi Teja was a nice experience. It is based on a real-life story and is going to be gripping and fascinating. Rumors about going over budget are false because we spent what is demanded by the exciting script. At the end of the day, satisfaction over output is important.
Q: After minting money with ‘Kashmir Files’, you have teamed up with Vivek Agnihotri for ‘The Vaccine War’?
A: It is another exciting film from our banner and we are looking forward to 'The Vaccine War’ and 'The Delhi Files.' Director Vivek Agnihotri is more like a family for us and working with him is a great experience. His planning and execution are immaculate. He will take a call on the release date of 'The Vaccine War,' although we are tentatively thinking of hitting theatres in September. We have left it to his discretion.
Q: We heard that you are planning to dish out big ticket Bollywood movies?
A: Very true. We are holding discussions with a couple of directors to churn out big ticket Bollywood movies. We have done some big movies in Telugu and are planning to expand our footprint in Bollywood. Our banner wants to make different kinds of movies in various languages.
Q: We also heard that you are going to step into active politics and also met Prime Minister Modi?
A: I had a golden opportunity to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the success of Kashmir Files. What made it special was his noble words about Kashmir Files. I have great regards for him, but I am not going to join active politics since I am happy being a producer since I love making movies.
