After Salaar, Pushpa It\'s Jr NTR\'s Devara
After Bahubali, Salaar, and Pushpa, now it is the turn of another big-ticket Telugu film ‘Devara’ to be released in two parts. The much-hyped film of superstar Jr NTR has created a lot of buzz from the day of its announcement since the scion of the Nandamuri family would be seen in a fiery role. B-town diva Jhanvi Kapoor plays the female lead, while ace Tamil composer Anirudh is scoring music for this action adventure.
NTR fans had been asking for updates about the movie. On Wednesday, ace director Koratala Siva took to social media to make an announcement via a video. In his video clip, the Devara maker said, “The film is set in the backdrop of the forgotten lands of coastal India. The canvas is too big. So, as we started shooting the film, the canvas started getting bigger. Every character in the film has its own weight. It needs to be explored in depth and detail. Since we can’t justify it in one part, we took the decision to tell this big story in two parts. The story won’t change in shape, but will thrive in scale. And April 5th is just the beginning.”
Actually, Koratala Siva is banking on this film to make a comeback of sorts after failing to impress with ‘Acharya’for which he also received brickbats. He had earlier tasted success with superhit films like ‘Srimanthudu’ and ‘Janatha Garage’ to be hailed as a star filmmaker.
Of late, it appears Tollywood Filmmakers are obsessing over sequels way too much. Earlier, makers would wait to see the response to the first part before announcing a sequel or a prequel. But now the scene is very different.
Take the case of the recently released film, Pedha Kapu 1. The makers made the movie with sequel in mind. However, the makers must realise that a lot is at stake here as banking on box office numbers is a huge gamble.
