Noted director Puri Jagannath is reportedly planning to make a small budget movie for about Rs 30 crores, before he starts working on ‘iSmart Shankar 2’. After a dud like ‘Liger’, Puri worked on various story ideas and has come up with some interesting plots.
Puri will be joining hands with Karnataka BJP leader Manju, who is a well-known businessman and also contested last assembly elections on saffron ticket but failed to make it to the Karnataka Assembly.
“BJP leader Manju was in Hyderabad to make some big movies recently. In the process of listening to scripts from various directors, he also received a storyline from Puri Jagannath. Impressed with the script, he agreed to pump in Rs 30 crores since he has great respect for the director. Casting is yet to be finalized,” says a source.
Actually, directors’ churning out content-based movies amidst star-studded flicks is not uncommon in the industry. Probably, Puri wants to prove his mettle and revive his winning streak because many raised doubts about his talent after a series of flops.
