Harish Shankar picks up stake in Valmiki
Filmmaker Harish Shankar’s forthcoming film, Valmiki, has been in the news for all the right reasons. The Varun Tej-starrer, which is a remake of Tamil film Jigarthanda, is almost done with the filming, and is heading towards post-production work. Confident that the film will be a box-office winner, the director has now decided to take a stake in the film’s revenues.
A source informs, “The project is dear to Harish. Ever since he decided to helm the film, he has been planning every step meticulously, right from screenwriting to casting and filming. After completing the film, Harish was really confident that it would be a box-office winner. Hence, he decided to take part of the stake in the film.”
Interestingly, this is not the first time Harish is investing in a film. He earlier took up the theatrical rights for Vizag area for Pawan Kalyan-starrer Gabbar Singh, and just as he had predicted, the film went on to become a blockbuster. Seems he wants to recreate that magic with Valmiki too.
