Not Ravi Teja, This Telugu Actor Was First Choice For Tiger Nageshwar Rao
No doubt, hotshot star Ravi Teja's movie 'Tiger Nageshwar Rao' has triggered enough buzz and is set for a pan-India release very soon. However, an industry source claims that Rana Daggubati refused to play the role of a dreaded thief from Bapatla before it was accepted by Ravi Teja.
"Two years ago, Rana was approached to play this real-life role. Initially, he was interested in doing a film inspired by real-life incidents that happened in the 1970s. He also got to know that the dreaded thief Nageshwar Rao was smart in looting houses and giving some sleepless nights to alert cops. He was also hailed as Robin Hood by people in Stuatpuram near Bapatla in Andhra Pradesh", says the source.
It was supposed to be produced by Anil Sunkara and the director was Vamsee Krishna. "After listening to the entire script from Vamsee for two hours, Rana wasn't convinced about its commercial prospects and also felt that the story was confined to a particular region..so informed producer Anil Sunkara that they could look for an alternative hero", the source adds.
Later, financier Abhishek Agrawal who turned producer took over the script and pitched it to action hero Ravi Teja who agreed to the gripping story as he liked the cat-and-mouse game between cops and fearless bandit.
Whether Rana Daggubati has made the right decision or not, we'll get to know after the release of the film in November.
