Puri Jagannadh's Temper to be remade in Tamil by Vishal Krishna
Puri Jagannadh’s 2015 Telugu hit Temper seems to have gotten quite a few filmmakers excited. The cop action film is being remade in Hindi, as Simmba, by Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty, with Ranveer Singh in the lead.
Now, we hear that it will be remade in Tamil as well. Vishal Krishna, who is basking in the success of his Tamil-Telugu cyber thriller Irumbu Thirai, has bought the rights to remake the film in Tamil.
The producer is unfazed by the competition that Simmba presents. “I want to remake Temper in Tamil because it deals with the topic of child-rape. I feel it’s very important for actors to use their audiences’ support to address issues through, and beyond, entertainment,” he says.
Temper featured Jr NTR playing a corrupt, hot-headed cop who befriends a gang leader. The Tamil version, which will be directed by P.S. Mithran, will not be identical to the original “We are looking at an entirely different interpretation of the story. The Tamil version of Temper will be completely different from the original,” Vishal says.
