Young diva Krithi Shetty seems to be looking beyond Tollywood as she signed her maiden Tamil film ‘Genie’ opposite Jayam Ravi, a few days ago. “She is playing the love interest to Jayam Ravi, whose stocks have soared after playing a warrior in ‘PS 1 and 2,” says a source.
With a few big flops like ‘Warrior’ and ‘Custody’, the Uppena girl has been finding it difficult to grab more Telugu offers. “Telugu makers always chase actresses who are among hits and not flops. Despite knowing that Krithi had little to do in hero-centric movies like ‘Warrior’ and ‘Custody,’ producers slowed down a bit,” he adds.
Already, she has signed a Malayalam movie ‘Ajayante Randam Moshanam’ to expand her footprint to other language movies. “She and mother, who handles her dates, are looking to move beyond Telugu movies. Probably, intend to return to Tollywood, once they get a plum offer,” he concludes.
