Hotshot star Vijay Devarakonda, who rose to fame with his aggressive performance in ‘Arjun Reddy,’ seems to have mellowed down for his upcoming film ‘Kushi’ with Samantha. The teaser and trailer showcase his softer and lovable side which is in total contrast to his anger-driven roles. Even in previous movies ‘World Famous Lover’ and ‘Liger’, he showcased traces of his aggression but he seems to have changed his style to connect with a wider section of audience.
“His much-hyped film ‘Arjun Reddy’ collected Rs 20 crores plus, while his soft lover boy role in 'Geeta Govindam’ garnered more than Rs 50 crores since it drew family audiences and kids in big numbers besides youth and masses,” says a distributor.
Probably, Vijay Devarakonda is looking to pull in all sections of the audience with his upcoming romantic drama ‘Kushi’ and regain his winning streak. “Lover boys with grey shades have limited reach, whereas good-hearted lover boys have more traction with viewers, because they are more relatable and convincing,” he adds.
As an actor, Vijay who banks on his vast stage experience, could play all kinds of roles with consummate ease. But this time around, he has chosen to tread a familiar path and draw in a good number of audiences.
