Dulquer on a mission to expand fan base
After proving his mettle in Malayalam movies, talented actor Dulquer Salmaan is taking up special roles in other language films. He has been roped in to play a key role in ‘Thug Life’ starring Kamal Haasan and directed by Mani Ratnam. “He has already worked with Mani Ratnam in ‘O Kadhal Kanmani’ and played a flamboyant lover boy and rocked the box office," says a source, who claims that Dulquer is on a mission to take up special roles to expand his fan base. “Instead of waiting for elusive hero-centric roles in Tamil and Telugu film industry, he is taking up special roles to showcase his talent. As he will be playing a key role in ‘Project K’ and bound to create ripples,’ he adds.
He also agreed to play a key role in Suriya – Sudha Kongara’s upcoming film. In all these three films, Dulquer will be playing important roles. “Dulquer who has attained superstardom in Mollywood has a different game plan for other language movies and going about with ease,” he points out.
Meanwhile, he is also doing a straight Telugu film ‘Lucky Bhaskar’ with director Venky Atluri who is known for hits like ‘Sir’. Of course, Dulquer gained a fan following among Telugu viewers with his scintillating performances in films like ‘Mahanati’ and ‘Sita Ramam’ to carve a niche for himself in Tollywood.
No doubt, the handsome actor is making waves across India, although his pan-India film 'King of Kotha' tanked at the box office recently.
