Chiranjeevi reminisces about a timeless classic
Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari (JVAS), which released on 9 May 1990, remains one of the cult classics not only in Chiranjeevi’s filmography, but also in Telugu cinema’s history.
As the film turns 30 years, the film’s director K. Raghavendra Rao (KRR), producer Ashwini Dutt and protagonist Chiranjeevi get nostalgic about it.
In a video message, a beaming Chiranjeevi describes the film as a ‘timeless classic’.
“The memories of shooting for JVAS are still fresh in my memory. I still remember when the film released, the state was lashed by heaving rains, but still the crowd was flocking theatres. It just goes to show how much people loved the film. Personally too, the film was very dear to me,” he says.
Then pointing out that JVAS is one of those films that can be tipped as ‘timeless classics’ something that people from any generations can watch and enjoy, Chiranjeevi adds, “Apart from the chemistry between Sridevi and me getting wide acclaim, all the songs in the movie were instant chartbusters. I want to thank KRR and Ashwini Dutt for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the film.”
