RRR, starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan, has been one of the biggest hits in the history of Indian cinema in 2022. Rajamouli’s magnum opus was penned by his father Vijayendra Prasad. And the writer now hints at a possible sequel if all goes well. “I am presently in the process of writing the sequel to RRR. Have been working on a few ideas, but it is premature to comment,” says Prasad.
He further says that the Vfx and production values of the sequel to the epic action drama will be on par with Hollywood. “The sequel will be interesting, but if it (story) materialises then the film will be made on a top notch scale. There’ll be grandeur and lavish art work,” he adds.
On a different note, Vijayendra Prasad has been working on a Mahesh Babu film to be directed by his son Rajamouli. The film is tipped to be an action-adventure
in the backdrop of Africa. When asked whether RRR sequel would commence pre-production after Mahesh Babu’s film, Prasad says that both films are different from each other.
“Both are diverse subjects and are set in different timelines. Hence, I cannot comment on when an RRR sequel would be made,” shares the screenwriter.
When further quizzed whether the sequel will have Ram Charan and Jr NTR, Prasad says he can’t comment on it now. Prasad’s comments have certainly got the fans of both the stars – Ram Charan and Jr NTR – excited.
