Strange series of flops after Rajamouli hits
There is a strange superstition doing the rounds in the film industry, and it’s around our very own successful director Rajamouli. It seems any actor would be blessed with a hit when working with Rajamouli, but his next film will be doomed to flop.
The latest ‘victim’ of this superstition appears to be Prabhas, who’d worked earlier with Rajamouli for Baahubali — a super cult hit. But look at his next — Saaho — and it has turned out to be a massive flop.
This is not the first time for an actor too. Take, for instance, Jr NTR, who’d worked with Rajamouli for Student No.1. While that movie was a hit, the actor’s next film Subbu turned a big dud. Jr NTR went on to work with the same director again for Simhadri — the movie went on to become of the biggest hits of that time. But the actor’s next film, Andhrawala, flopped again. Another once, too, Jr NTR worked with Rajamouli for Yamadonga, the film after which drew a dud. Again.
Likewise, actor Nithiin who worked with Rajamouli for the film Sye caught a flop in his next, Allari Bullodu. Then, Ram Charan faced similar results after he worked with the director for Magadheera, considered an industry hit; his next one, Orange, turned out to be a huge flop.
Comedian Sunil, who became lead actor with a Rajamouli-directorial Maryada Ramanna saw huge success for the film but faced the music for his next Appalaraju. Actor Nani, too, has not been spared. His greatest success story, Eega, was made by Rajamouli, and he turned a dud with his next film Eto Vellipoyindi Manasu.
Actor Prabhas turned into a star with Rajamouli’s Chatrapathi, although his next one Pournami was just big a flop.
This has been a pattern for almost all the actors!
