Director Virinchi Varma had first narrated the script of his film Majnu to actor Naga Chaitanya, but things didn’t work out and he eventually did the film with Nani. However, it looks like his wish to team up with the Akkineni scion will soon be fulfilled.

Sources reveal that the director, who is busy working on a script for his next, is keen to collaborate with Chaitanya. “They have met to discuss the project, but nothing has been finalised yet. Chay is surely interested in the story but wants Virinchi to further work on it. The duo has ample time though and they will finalise on something before Chay wraps up his film with director Maruthi,” says the source. If this project works out, the film could be produced by Chaitanya’s home banner, Annapurna Studios.
