Entha Manchivaadavuraa is a family drama
When director Satish Vegesna was felicitated by the film fraternity for winning the National Award in 2017, the guest list also included actor Kalyanram. “I observed Kalyanram a lot during his stay at the felicitation. Co-incidentally, the actor also expressed interest in doing a family drama,” shares director Satish, adding that’s how he decided to choose Kalyanram as the protagonist for his forthcoming family drama, Entha Manchivaadavuraa.
A remake of a Gujrati film, Oxygen, Entha Manchivaadavuraa has been silently making inroads amid big ticket flicks during the forthcoming Sankranti festive release.
Expressing his gratitude to filmmakers Subhash Gupta, Umesh Gupta and Sivalenka Krishna Prasad for backing his content, Vegesna says, “I strongly believe this is the ideal film for the entire family to watch during the festival because it talks about relationships and human emotions,” adding that Kalyanram’s true self will be unveiled in the film.
“Kalyanram comes across as a reserved, shy person in real life, and I wanted to depict the same in the film too,” says Vegesna adding that Kalyanram’s role will be a complete makeover from his earlier films.
“His cool and expressive side will stand out,” explains Satish adding that the film is about how a youngster (played by Kalyanram) who always likes to be around family and relatives, proves that even people who are not our blood relatives can still be our extended family.
Vegesna admits that winning the National Award has put a bit of pressure on him. “It naturally does, but since I have been constantly making family drama films, people have been asking me when I will make an action film. But for the first time, my film has an action scenes,” he quips.
