Big B Turns 81: Megastar Chiranjeevi Greets legendary Amitabh Bachchan

Megastar Chiranjeevi wished legendary actor Amitabh Bachcchan on his 81st birthday today. In his tweet he wrote, “May you be blessed with a long life, filled with happiness and good health! May you keep enthralling and inspiring millions of us for many many years to come, with your acting genius,” he said and added further, “This birthday of yours is also very special for me, because I am looking forward to meeting you, my idol, virtually tonight on your legendary KBC show!!

Actually, Amitabh Bachchan made his debut in Tollywood with ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ starring Chiranjeevi and did a ‘special role’ in this much-hyped historical drama. Chiranjeevi played the titular role of Narasimha Reddy, while Amitabh Bachchan essayed the role of Gossayi Venkanna, real-life guru of Narasimha Reddy. During the teaser launch, Chiranjeevi had claimed that he called Big B when the cast was being formulated.

"There is only one megastar and that is Amitabh Bachchan. Working with him is a great experience. In the film he is playing the character of my guru," Chiranjeevi began by saying and added, “My director wanted him to play the part. I made a call to him because I wanted to try once. He said, 'you tell me, what do you want?' I told him that I was making a film on the unsung hero Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, and there is a special character of a guru, a teacher. I told him I wanted him to play my 'guru' and he agreed," the 65-year-old star added.

In reply, Amitabh told him “Chiranjeevi, you have never asked me for anything. This is the first time you are expecting something from me. I will do it'. Chiranjeevi also said he's grateful to Mr Bachchan for joining his film.

Earlier, Amitabh Bachchan was seen in a brief appearance in another Telugu film ‘Manam’ where legendary actor ANR shared screen space with his son Nagarjuna and grandson Naga Chaitanya. He is seen as a chairman of a corporate hospital and he talks to Nagarjuna who calls him to take care of one of the patients(Samantha) who is admitted in the hospital. Amitabh says he will deploy the best team to take care of her and Nagarjuna thanks him.
