Divyansha Kaushik bags Michael
Divyansha Kaushik seems to be having a great year! She has been bagging happening projects. After coming on board the Ravi Teja-starrer Ramarao on Duty, she has now signed another interesting project, Michael, directed by Ranjit Jeyakodi.
The actress, who is in Hyderabad to commence workshop sessions for her film, says she has always been a great fan of Vijay Sethupathi’s work. “I was elated to come on board Michael. I later got to know that Sundeep Kishan and Gautham Menon are also part of the film, so it’s a double delight,” beams Divyansha.
She’s also excited about shooting one of the schedules of the film in her hometown, Delhi. “That’s something I am looking forward to because I never imagined that one day I would be shooting in Delhi and head straight to home,” she reveals.
Divyansha says her role in Michael will be an intense one. Though she doesn’t want to reveal much about it, she says her character is action-oriented and will surprise the audience since it involves her undergoing a total makeover. “This is the first time I am doing a full-fledged action role. In fact, for me there are a lot of firsts associated with Michael,” she says.
Divyansha will receive rope training and work under fight masters before she performs the action sequences. “I also have to rehearse for my dance moves, apart from participating in script-reading sessions with the directors and familiarising myself with my lines. So I have a lot to do,” shares the actress who will join the sets of the film this week.
The Takkar actress says working with Ravi Teja in the film Ramarao on Duty was enriching. The actor helped her with her lines, and also advised her on the kind of roles and films she should take up, Divyansha added. Their conversations were centred around the film industry apart from food, and Ravi Teja shared his own journey in films, she revealed.
Divyansha, who will be seen as a homemaker from a small town in the Sarath Mandava directorial, stresses that she doesn’t want to be limited to playing north Indian girls in Telugu films, but rather, wants to push herself as a performer.
Sharing vignettes from her short and exciting journey, the actress, who has been signing more Telugu films lately, says, “It’s a blessing that I am landing interesting roles. It’s been a couple of years since Majili was released, so I don’t want to delay too much, I want to focus on my career. I love working in the Telugu industry and the South in general. I believe that my work will get me more films.”
Expressing satisfaction at the way her career has been progressing, Divyansha says, “Be it cameos or leads, the characters I have been playing create an impact on the films. So, I have to say, the credit goes to the filmmakers for writing such intense roles.”
