RGV devises a new plan to release Vyooham
-With his upcoming political potboiler ‘Vyooham’ having issues with the Censor Board in Hyderabad and set to be watched by the nine-member revising committee in Bangalore, maverick director Ram Gopal Varma has devised a new strategy to release his much-awaited film which revolves around the life story of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. “RGV is banking on the Hindi version of his film and he would be getting a censor certificate from Mumbai. Once, it is done, they would apply for certification for dubbed Telugu version in Mumbai and would be releasing the controversial film in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in a big way,” says a source.
The teaser and trailer have already triggered a lot of interest in the film and it would much-awaited film from RGV who is known for making films on controversial themes. “He is banking on the popularity of Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to pull in crowds in Telugu states and also it will expose his political opponents who plotted to decimate Y S Jagan after the death of father and late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. RGV thinks that the film could find some traction in Hindi and Tamil languages too since movies around political leaders break regional barriers,” he points out.
Besides, Ram Gopal Varma is banking on his film to regain his Midas touch. “He tasted success with his earlier controversial film 'Lakshmi's NTR' revolving around legendary NTR and his second wife Lakshmi Parvathi and it turned out to be a commercial winner and fetched him money and critical acclaim too," he concludes.
However, his recent films like ‘Konda’ and “Ladiki’ failed to impress the audience and he is banking on Vyooham to regain his winning streak
