Debutant filmmaker Subbu Vedula says that his upcoming film, Raahu, which has been generating curiosity because of the title, is a new genre. “Predominantly, Raahu is a thriller but falls under the ‘house invasion genre’,” explains Subbu, adding that it is a relatively unexplored type in Tollywood.
Raahu apparently revolves around how a girl (played by Kritika Garg) fights her way back after being trapped in a house.
According to Subbu, one of the most intriguing aspects of the film is the screenplay, apart from the strong emotional content.
“I think emotion drives the film and the interesting twists and turns make for an edge-of-the-seat thriller. Also, the way Kritika’s character was designed makes for an interesting watch — how a fearful girl fights for survival; and there’s also a back-story for her being fearful too,” explains Subbu, adding that the film is likely to be released in March.
