Varun Tej Plays Bodyguard in Gandeevadhari Arjuna
Young actor Varun Tej, who won appreciation for his soft lover boy roles in big ticket films like ‘Fidaa’ and “Tholi Prema’, is all set to showcase his anger in his upcoming film ‘Gandeevadhari Arjuna’.
“I am not playing a spy, rather essaying the role of a bodyguard in this action movie. We shot at exotic locations in Europe since it’s crucial for the story. This title is also justified,” said the actor at a promotional event for his movie.
However, a distributor says that he is taking a gamble of sorts. “He should have waited for some more time since he is just etched in the minds of the audience as the boy-next-door who is tender-hearted and does anything for love.” Now, he has gone in for a makeover for this anger-driven role to accomplish a mission- safeguarding environment.
Probably, he wants to join the ‘action hero’ bandwagon dominated by his uncles Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan and his kin Ram Charan and Allu Arjun. “Few mega heroes have attained this image long back. Now, it is the turn of Nagababu’s son to flex his muscles and decimate evil doers since such roles fetch him mass following besides youth," he points out.
Earlier, he showcased his flair for comedy in 'F2' and tasted success, while his boxer role in 'Ghani' failed to impress the viewers.
