Gear up for non BB' records now
It could be the great pre-release buzz or just a matter of fate but Baahubali: The Conclusion broke several records throughout the country. In fact, it has gone on to become the highest grossing Indian film ever worldwide! Only on Friday, the film’s Hindi version crossed the lifetime collections of Aamir Khan’s Dangal, in just 14 days time.
While the Telugu film industry is really proud and cheering a great deal, the success of Baahubali has given rise to a new trend in Tollywood. Earlier, people would discuss how a certain film’s collections were the “highest”. But since the success of Baahubali: The Beginning, everyone only talks about the “non-Baahubali” record, much to the amusement of many.
No doubt Baahubali is a big film and almost invincible, but one would have hoped that it would at least stop people from playing the game of numbers. However, that doesn’t seem possible as proved in the case of many big-budget films that released post Baahubali: The Beginning. One such example is that of Khaidi No. 150 which holds several “non-Baahubali” records.
Now, with the stupendous success of Baahubali: The Conclusion, one wonders if people will consider it a “record” even if both the films stay at the top! We can only wait and watch for the upcoming big films to release and see how this trend will catch up.
