Samarasimha Reddy Actress plays Pakistan PM in Tiger 3
Hyderabad: Pretty actress Simran, who ruled the roost in Tollywood with numerous hits, essayed the role of Pakistan Prime Minister in her latest Hindi release, 'Tiger 3'.
"She had a decent enough role and did a fairly good job," says a distributor, who claims that the spy thriller revolves around her in the film's second part. "Indian spy Salman Khan wages a battle of sorts to save her life and democracy in Pakistan," he concludes. However, he recalled her grand stint in Telugu films two decades ago.
"She made her debut in Telugu with 'Abbai Gari Pelli' in 1997 and later went on to work with superstars like Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, and Venkatesh and was also hailed a lucky mascot since most of her films set the box office on fire," he adds. She was a sought-after actress for her pretty looks and dancing abilities. "She played memorable roles in films like 'Samarasimha Reddy,' 'Kalisundam Raa,' 'Nuvvu Vasthavani' and 'Narasimha Naidu' and then moved to Tamil movies," he informs.
She also worked with younger generation stars like Mahesh Babu in 'Yuvaraju,' and she was last seen in the Telugu film 'Appa Rao 40 plus'. "She is not willing to play mother or character roles in Telugu, but she could soon change her decision since her yesteryear colleagues like Nadiya, Ramyakrishnan, and Kushboo are doing such roles in Telugu," he concludes.
