Leading Telugu producer Dil Raju, who tasted success with his Tamil film ‘Varisu’ starring superstar Vijay, is now looking for a top-league Hindi actor to commence his Bollywood innings with a bang. He has been visiting Mumbai a couple of times to clinch a deal for a big-ticket Hindi movie. “Shahid Kapoor is one of the hot contenders and he has commenced talks with him to deliver a multi-crore extravaganza,’ says a source, who claims that Dil Raju is determined to expand his brand equity beyond Tollywood.
Already, he made blockbusters with Telugu stars like Jr NTR(Brindavanam), Mahesh Babu (Maharshi), and Pawan Kalyan (Vakeel Saab), while his upcoming multilingual film ‘Game Changer’ with reigning star Ram Charan Tej has generated enough hype across India. “Dil Raju has the capability to judge a novel story and has a creative team to work on it and deliver a perfect mass entertainer,” he adds.
Without a doubt, Shahid Kapoor is a very talented actor and is basking in the success of ‘Farzi’. He also delivered massive hits like “Kabir Singh,’’ Udta Punjab’ and ‘Kaminey’ to carve a niche for himself. “Shahid can essay all kinds of roles with ease and could slip into varied characters effortlessly. He is looking for exciting scripts from the South to keep up his winning streak. He would join hands with Dil Raju if they find the right script,” he points out.
Recently, Dil Raju also tasted success with the content-driven film ‘Balagam’ and now he is looking at Bollywood to dish out thematic and star-studded fares and raise the banner of Telugu producers in the Hindi film industry sooner than later.
