It’s common for stars to take breaks from their film shoots to unwind, but none do so as religiously as Charan. The actor, who claims to believe in “spiritual living” takes up a 45-day Ayyappa Deeksha every year. He says that the spiritual retreat gives him much-needed strength.
“I am religious and spiritual. The Ayyappa Deeksha that I undertake every year is inspired by my father. I have been doing it for the past 10 years. It’s just like a detox holiday — the Deeksha is 45 days of pure living, which is good for me. As an actor, I am exposed to a lot of stress, unhealthy food, uncertain itineraries, and chaotic schedules. This Deeksha gives me the inner strength to cope with difficulties,” says Charan.
