Reigning star Vijay Deverakonda and actress Samantha seemed to be on a new high at a musical concert organised to promote their upcoming film, 'Kushi.' In a video that has gone viral, Vijay lifts her and swings her around, and then she jumps on him for a foot-tapping number before addressing the audience.
Samantha said, "I am happy that you are enjoying the songs and making it a special day for us. I hope to watch the film with fans like you. I'm thankful to Mythri producers for having a lot of patience with me while working on this film since I had taken a break due to health issues. I will come back stronger and healthy to deliver a blockbuster. I don't have words to express my love to fans," she said.
Talking about disclosing health issues to the public, Vijay Devarakonda had some initial apprehensions. "I thought why Sam was talking about illness openly, but when I meet people now, they are disclosing their health issues openly, then I realized that she was doing with some responsibility, a great decision indeed," he said.
In fact, he went on to say that he never felt that she was suffering from an ailment while shooting for this film, "We used to ask her 'you looking beautiful and fine, what health issue are you undergoing?' Later, we realized that it was a serious one to be addressed. She took a break and didn't speak to any of us as she was battling with a lot of issues. Even today, she is not perfectly fit, as she finds harsh lighting uncomfortable, but she managed to come here and perform," he said.
Vijay said that his upcoming love saga 'Kushi' will see the audience leaving theatres with a smile on their faces. "I haven't done such a film for a long time, and it has finally happened, thanks to director Shiva Nirvana for making a heart-warming couples drama," he concludes.
Director Shiva Nirvana says that every aspiring and married couple would go home and hug themselves after watching this film. "We also fought over such issues and then understood each other and feel overwhelmed," he informs.
Producer Naveen claimed that Samantha had been a lucky mascot for them. "She was there in our blockbusters like 'Janatha Garage' and 'Pushpa,' and now we are on the verge of a hat trick," he concludes.
