Bhaskar Bandi debuting with confidence

Nanna Nenu Naa Boyfriends marks his debut as director.

Bhaskar Bandi has been around for over a decade now, having worked with V.V. Vinayak and Chota K Naidu. But he is now finally making his directorial debut with Nanna, Nenu, Naa Boyfriends and he surprisingly doesn’t realise the gravity of his job. “It seems just like what I have been doing from so long, except with added responsibility,” he shares.

While apprehension and nervousness before a release are common, Bhaskar is very relaxed. “Whoever watched the film has said good things about it. I can only hope that the audience also thinks in the same way. I am confident about how the film has shaped up,” he says nonchalantly.

A native of a village in West Godavari, Narayanapuram films were a dream. “I was always intrigues. I luckily got to work for several years with Vinayak garu and Chota garu. I had my own story, that I narrated to our producer. But he asked me if I’d be open to working on someone else’s story. That’s how this film happened. I saw it as a great opportunity,” he states.

When quizzed about the title of the film, he explains, “It’s about the bond between a father and daughter. The way it pans out is worth watching. Sai Krishna has done a brilliant job writing the story and Prasanna has given some wonderful dialogues. I was lucky to work with such a team. And when Chota garu agreed to be the cinematographer, I was happy but never realised then what an asset he would be to me and the film. His contribution has been immense not just visually but even in terms of content.”
