Kamal Haasan's Iconic Silent film Pushpa to hit theatres again
Legendary actor Kamal Haasan has joined the bandwagon of re-releases in T-town. He is planning to re-release his evergreen black comedy drama ‘Pushpak’ in theatres very soon. It was released in multiple languages with different titles in the past since it was a ‘silent’ movie. The production house Raaj Kamal Films International, fondly referred to as RKFI, took to social media to make this announcement about India’s rarest silent black comedy film, also starring an ensemble cast with Amala as the leading lady.
Although they are yet to divulge a date, the announcement on X, formerly known as Twitter, read, “#Pushpak #Pesumpadam, a pioneer in silent black comedy and an iconic masterpiece of Indian cinema, will be re-released in theatres soon.” The film is directed by Singheetham Srinvasa Rao. Speaking of the film, Pushpak revolves around an unemployed graduate who encounters a drunk rich unconscious man and takes over his lifestyle after keeping him as a prisoner. However, he does not realise the dangers he has brought upon himself because a hired killer believes him to be his target.
Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan has returned to Tollywood with a big ticket film ‘Kalki’ and is reportedly playing a dreaded villain in this futuristic saga.
