Here to stay: Saurav Chakrabarthi
Actor Saurav Chakrabarthi might have entered Tollywood with Dhruva but interestingly he's been part of Tollywood for a while now. The actor has been part of the Bengali film industry which is also called Tollywood! “In fact, the day Dhruva released, I had a release Amar Prem in Bengali too. It has been quite an exciting time," shares the actor who began his journey with television with Left Right Left.
Dhruva sees him play an ambitious sharpshooter hired by Arvind Swamy in his fight against the protagonist. Landing the role was a very exciting prospect for Saurav. “When I was first told about this role, I gathered that they had already okayed someone else for the role. But I went ahead anyway and luckily, they chose me. I have been a huge admirer of Surender Reddy garu having watched his films like Kick and Race Gurram which I loved. The idea of working with him sounded really exciting and I couldn’t let it go.”
The 29-year-old has also worked in a Kannada and Tamil film each and is also waiting for the release of a couple of Hindi films. Ask him how different the experience was, and he replies, “This has been my longest role so far and also the biggest film. I got to work with a big production house and some well-known names like Ram Charan and Arvind Swamy and I think things couldn’t have gotten better. But yes, this makes me want to be here a lot more and I wish to do more films in Telugu. I am a hard worker and I never quit. So I will keep trying till I get some great work.”
Is Saurav familiar with the industry at all? “ Oh yes! I am a huge fan of Allu Arjun and Ravi Teja. While I love the mass appeal of Ravi Teja, I am in awe of Arjun's dances and energy,” he shares.
