If you’ve watched the recent music video Kadile Kaalam Kalala, which garnered a lot of attention for its interesting theme, Love Blossoms, you probably have the song stuck in your head. Anirudh Sameer, who plays the lead in the music video, says, “I have known director Kiran Meegada for some time now, but when he approached me for a music video, I wasn’t so sure about it. However, when I heard the track, I knew I had to be a part of this project.”
Interestingly, although Kadile Kaalam Kalala’s pre- and post-production took a lot of time, the process of shooting was wrapped up within 14 hours. The actor feels that the whole process was very smooth.
“There was a lot of planning that went into the project, but everyone, starting from the director Kiran Meegada, to our DOP Kalyan Sam and the actress Meenakshi Dixit, were amazing. We knew what to do and there weren’t many hurdles. Though there were location changes, we managed everything effortlessly,” explains Anirudh.
Anirudh, who pursued animation, says that acting is his true passion. Talking about his journey as an actor, he elaborates, “I have been passionate about acting since my childhood. I took part in dramas in school and later, started doing theatre. I have also acted in web series, short films and TV commercials.”
During his free time, the budding actor works on his acting skills, dancing and more. “I am a trained dancer in freestyle, hip-hop and Bollywood — I have been part of a dance troupe in Mumbai. I am also a fitness freak. So, I regularly go to the gym and also practice kickboxing,” he says.
So, are we going to see the actor in a movie any time soon? “Well, yes!” he says, adding, “I am talking to a few people. I can’t reveal the details as yet. However, if all goes as planned, you shall see me soon in a movie.”
