'All my films have some takeaway'
Karthikeya has earned a reputation as an actor who tries to be different. His upcoming film Bedurulanka 2012 is in keeping with this principle. The Clax directorial deals with superstition and false notions.
“The film is set in a village where innocent people are exploited through superstitions. I play a guy who returns to the village from the city. I take on the wrongdoers amid much drama,” Kathikeya reveals.
The actor says he thoroughly enjoyed the narration. What was supposed to be a one-hour sitting turned into a four-hour one, he says. “I enjoyed the unique humour that was woven into the script. The comedy is situational, and the style of narration is new, with relatable characters.”
Karthikeya believes in offering something new to the audience. “I have evolved as an actor; my understanding of scripts and cinema has been a learning experience. My films may have failed but Kartikeya as an actor never failed,” he says, expressing pride in his journey. “All my films have some takeaways, so that gives me strength to focus and move on,” he reveals, adding that the audience’s love and the offers of roles from filmmakers kept him going.
