A grand affair

The actor also spoke about how he was reluctant to receive stardom.

Pawan Kalyan, who wowed in a pancha kattu and kurta at the pre-release event of Katamarayudu, went on a trip down memory lane as he shared some interesting anecdotes from his 20-year journey in the industry, as he spoke of lessons he learnt from Gokulam lo Seetha, Suswagatham, Tholi Prema, Khushi etc. Recalling the shoot of Suswagatham, the actor said, “For the scene where my father dies, I slapped myself again and again to feel the pain. It took me nearly 40 takes to be satisfied. I know it’s not a good omen, but I even imagined losing my father and cried my heart out. So much that when he actually died, I didn’t cry at all.”

The actor also spoke about how he was reluctant to receive stardom. “For me, Chiranjeevi garu is the only hero! It’s difficult to think of myself as one. I couldn’t believe initially that people would really come to see me.”

On a parting note, he added that the result of a film doesn’t affect him. “I don’t believe in promoting my film and feel that if the audience like it, they will watch it irrespective of what I say. I am ready to accept the result, whatever it is,” he said.
