Step-motherly treatment?
Telugu filmmakers don’t seem to mind spending big bucks to rope in actors from other languages rather than giving a chance to local actors. According to a source, director Boyapati Srinu is trying to rope in Sanjay Dutt to play a negative role in his upcoming film that stars Balakrishna. “However, the actor is charging a bomb, so the makers are negotiating with him,” says the source.
Meanwhile, Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathy, who is doing a major role in upcoming Telugu film Uppena, has reportedly been paid more than Rs 5 crore by Mytri Movie Makers.
“Tamil actor Samuthirakani, who is playing a villain in Trivikram’s Ala Vaikuntapuramlo, and is in another film starring Ravi Teja, is also charging quite a high amount,” adds the source, who further states, “Our producers are ready to give Rs 20 lakhs per day to other language character actors and obey all their conditions, but when it comes to our Telugu actors, they negotiate even when the actor quotes Rs 3 lakhs per day.”
