Renu Desai to direct a children’s film
Renu Desai shall don the director’s hat for a Telugu film soon. Having directed two films in Marathi, the former actress is set to direct a children’s film that expounds farmers’ plight.
Talking about the project, she says, “I have spent all my holidays in childhood in my parent’s farm. So I know what exactly goes in farming and the troubles the farmers face..”
Prod her on why a children’s film, as against a mainstream one, Renu, who is also producing the film, replies, “Most of the children in cities don’t know how the rice and other vegetables come from. Hopefully, my film can make a difference.”
Apparently, the reece for the locations have already been done, and the film will be based out of a village in Telangana.
“Since it’s a children’s film, the content would be told in an entertaining way and from the children’s perspective so that they can understand what exactly is farming,” she explains adding that she did extensive research in and around villages in Telangana to understand farmers’ difficulties.
