After an interesting debut playing actor Venkatesh’s daughter in Drushyam, actress Kruthika Jayakumar is going places. The actress is now set to foray into Tamil too with actor Arya’s period film Santhana Devan, which is set in a rural backdrop and has Jallikattu as a primary theme. She’s set to play a village girl in the film.
“Kruthika will play the female lead in the period drama. Director Ameer apparently felt she was perfect for the role. She gave a look test and was cast immediately,” shares a source, adding that she’ll begin shooting soon.
Interestingly, the film is being talked about a great deal ever since the first look featuring Arya was released, just around the time when protests to legalise Jallikattu were happening in Tamil Nadu.
