Vaishnavi Chaitanya back to square one

Even young actor Ram Pothineni sent her a beautiful flower bouquet along with best wishes and patted her work.

Despite a splendid performance in blockbuster 'Baby, young actress Vaishnavi Chaitanya is finding it hard to get offers opposite big stars in Tollywood. She has reunited with Anand Devarakonda and Sai Rajesh who has penned the story to recreate the magic of ‘Baby’ once again, “She played a challenging role with ‘grey shades’ in ‘Baby’ and came out triumphant. Frankly, very few young actresses could match up to it. She is a very talented girl but hasn’t got the opportunity to work with big stars to move up the ladder of success,” says a source.

No doubt, big stars like Allu Arjun and Ram Pothineni heaped praises on her and also sent flower bouquets in appreciation of her elegant performance but plum offers have been evading her till date. For instance, Allu Arjun talked about the dearth of Telugu-speaking girls in Telugu cinema.

“Vaishnavi is the primary reason why I attended this function. When I acted with Vaishnavi in ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo,’ I knew that some day a girl like her would be donning the female lead role and she proved me right with 'Baby,” he said at the success meet of ‘Baby’. Even young actor Ram Pothineni sent her a beautiful flower bouquet along with best wishes and patted her work. She thanked both the actors for their valuable accolades.

“Both Allu Arjun and Ram Pothineni came out openly praising her since it is one of the toughest performances in recent times by any young diva. She pulled off one of the most-challenging roles with ease. However, performers like her have to wait for some more time, to work with bigger stars, since glam girls are ruling the roost now,” he points out.

He claims that she would have been flooded with plum offers in Tamil and Malayalam film industry where talent outshines skin show. "Tamil and Malayalam filmmakers have an eye for talent over looks and promote good actors without any hesitation. Whereas, Tollywood filmmakers are still penning poorly-etched roles for heroines so the likes of Vaishnavi have to bide their time,” he concludes.
