I was always inclined towards acting: Rubal Shekhawat
HYDERABAD: Rubal Shekhawat, headed straight for Tollywood after bagging the First Runner-up position at the 2022 Miss India pageant, and is playing the lead in Avasaraniko Abbadham, directed by Ayaan Bommalee.
Rubal is paired with Thrigun in the romantic comedy produced by Dr. Jagadish Yalamanchili.
“I’m thrilled to debut in an industry known for producing cool content and humongous box office numbers. I couldn’t have asked for a better launch,” says an excited Rubal.
According to her, life after the pageant has been great. Revealing that though she was always inclined towards acting, the competition increased her passion for making a career in the field, be it in films, web series or television, she shares that in order to understand the ropes of acting and other aspects of the industry, she had started off with modelling during her college days in Rajasthan. “Later, I shifted to Mumbai to pursue full time modelling and I learnt a lot about the showbiz industry. I realised films is where I want to be,” she adds.
Rubal says stepping into Tollywood is fulfilling, since this is the work she has been dreaming of since childhood. “Going to the sets makes me feel happy and content. How many will have such a great opportunity to live their childhood dream?” she comments.
Telugu may be new to Rubal, but she has started working on it. “I will commence shooting next month, and I am getting to learn the meaning of various words. My direction team is helping me with the lines,” says Rubal, who had been to Hyderabad a few times on modelling assignments.
We ask her what’s Avasaraniko Abbadham is about, and she replies that it is about the significance of lies, which have a place in life, just like truth.
Sharing that she’s looking forward to making an impact with her performance in Tollywood, Rubal signs off saying, “I believe this launch is a great start to my work. I am hoping for a long stint in the industry.”
