How does it matter that I tested positive?', asks Sonu Sood
Sonu Sood, who recently tested positive for COVID-19, continued his humanitarian activities even during the week he was in quarantine till he tested negative again. “How does my testing positive matter?” he asks. “I am determined to do my best in these tough times.”
He continues his efforts to coordinate and secure beds, oxygen cylinders, medicines and other material for the needy. “The second wave of COVID-19 has hit the people hard, and the situation is worse than before. The saddest part is that my phone has been incessantly ringing even past midnight and people are pleading for beds for their loved ones. I am doing my best, but sometimes I feel sorry that I am unable to help,” shares the actor.
“It is disheartening to see so many deaths happening around us; we feel sad for the bereaved families. I am praying that these tough times end very soon and normality is restored,” he says.
Talking to the needy seems to have taken a toll on him both physically and emotionally. Sonu’s wife Sonali worries when he steps out of their home. She constantly reminds him to take care of himself. “I do take care and follow all the health protocols,” he affirms.
Many people choose to distance themselves from news about the spread of the pandemic and the toll it is taking, in order to keep themselves upbeat. So how has Sonu Sood managed to interact with so many affected people for over a year now, we ask. The actor tells us that it is the “Thank You” messages from the people who have recovered that keep him going.
